My wife and I hooked up with one of my friend from Montreal (Canada).

We went to see a racing event in Jhunan. I had never seen a scooter race of my life. Let me tell these guys and girls are without fear.

The first set of pics are super motos. It's a 400cc motocross style, but with racing tires. The cool thing about this is that they drift in the curves.

It's very popular in Taiwan.

We also saw a lot of craches. Don't worry everybody was ok.

This girl is a racer. She is very popular in asia. She goes racing in many countries like Thailand,Japan,Hong Kong ect...She beats man very badly (on the track )

There are actually a few girls that are racing and believe me they are not friendly on the track. ha ha ha.

Ok, now it's time to race.

In Taiwan on a red light you will see thousands and thousands of scooter waiting for the green light and half of them think that they are on the racing track. Just last december three of them hit my car. (watch your paint job)

After that we went in the mountains to refresh ourselves.

It was so hot that day that the people just jumped in the water no matter what they were wearing.

I work in a "bushiban" where I teach English. The name is "Kids Castle" I have been there for the past two years.

This was a field trip a the science park.

I have to say. I have the best job in the world. I just love to interact with kids, it's a lot simpler than with adults. Kids go straight to there basic need--love,food,fun,sleep.

Everytime they learn or understand something new, you can see it in there eyes, they light-up and they feel great.

That's Yvonne. She has been a student of mine for the last two years.

Someone was bored, but it doesn't seem to be the kids.lol.(I would like to send him the picture but I don't know his E-mail. I tought sending it to the web site of the park but i'm worried it would not be good for his carriere. Ha ha ha

That's Emilly. Did you know that they make satellite in Taiwan. Actually they make most of the microchips for all satellites in the world.

That's Harry. Well, I call him Harry potter. You know some kids are too smart, that's one of them. The funiest kid I know.

As you can see my life at work is not so bad..But it's not always sunny.

Here is a trip my wife and I made to hewan san.

Our first motorcycle ride in Taiwan.

We left Shin-chu early in the morning it was the first time my wife had ever ridden on a real motorcycle. The task was not small. This trip would decide if I could buy the motorcycle or not (lol).

You have to understand that motorcycle are fairly new in Taiwan (2 years) but every body ride's a scooter until they can afford a car. Some of them will never. So as you can imagine for my wife to go back to a two weeler made no sense.

Standing or "to have face" is very important here. What people see of you is what you are.

Example-- You have a mercedes benz.. But you can bearly pay it, your house is a shit hole,and when you get out of your car, your clothing has holes and you weare slippers. It is still a sign of succes because you have a benz...

So I had to convince my wife that motorcycles are a sign of succes(Joke) I had to convince her that it was confortable, fun, and a different life style.

We went on in the mountains (Bikes can't go on the highways here) for four hours. We stopped in many places.  

We finally got there, it was beautiful.

We found a hotel that looked like a Swiss chalet with a fire place inside. We've learned later that it was working with charcoal. Ha ha ha (wouash).

The next day we went to the top of the mountain. Damn it was cold 5c. There was a difference of 20c from the bottom of the mountain.

We have met a motorcycle club at the top. About 20 bikes, boys and girls. my wife had a good talk with the other women about bikes ( I still thank them till this day) lol.

  They are cool these guys. They are still my friends and everytime we go to Taichung we meet and ride together.

To finish this story.. My wife liked the trip,I got to buy the motorcycle but now she want's (1 year later) to have it, so have to buy an other one for myself. lol.

She doesn't want to sit behind anymore and I understand her.
